Jeremiah 2:37 Yea, you shall go forth from him, and your hands upon your head: for the LORD has rejected your confidences, and you shall not prosper in them.
The other day a sister in the Lord, was sharing with me about how she was being intrigued by the confidence that Jonathon had in the Lord vs. the confidences that Saul had in other means.
The above verse goes well with these thoughts as well.
What are some practical confidences?
Job? Finances? Earthly dwelling place? Parents? One another?
I also like the part of this verse that says “you shall not prosper in them.” Thinking of the word”halt” here.
1Ki_18:21 And Elijah came unto all the people, and said, How long halt ye between two opinions? if the LORD be God, follow him: but if Baal, then follow him. And the people answered him not a word.
He causes a stop, a halt. Until repentance unto Him is found.
The word halt also means to be lame. If we are lame how can running even be possible?
Heb_12:13 And make straight paths for your feet, lest that which is lame be turned out of the way; but let it rather be healed.
Heb 12:15 Looking diligently lest any man fail of the grace of God
Does lameness occur because we resist the grace of God to carry us through to the finish line?
