The other day while at work ( I work in the special care unit of a nursing home) I was giving a resident a shower. And she kept telling me, “The water is too hot, The water is too cold.” And back and forth many times.
During this, I asked the Lord, “Is this how I am with you?”
I say Lord, it’s too hot, turn down the heat! Then I say, Lord I need more of you! So He sends the affliction and persecution and then I complain, Lord why is this happening!
Help me to be content in whatsoever state I am in.
2 Corinthians 4:9-12 (Weymouth)
At all points we are hard pressed, yet not hemmed in; perplexed, yet not at wits’ end; pursued, yet not forsaken; struck down, yet not destroyed; always carrying about in our bodies the putting to death of Jesus, so that in our bodies the life of Jesus also may be manifest For we, alive thou we are , are continually surrendering ourselves to death for the sake of Jesus, so that in our mortal nature the life of Jesus also may be manifest. Thus death is at work in us, but life in you.
