One of the ways that I often open up with in prayer is, “Your mercies are new every morning” Lam 3:23
I am not sure where I got this or why, however it just always seems to flow out.
However, One day at work I read this verses.
2Ch 13:11 And they burn unto the LORD every morning and every evening burnt sacrifices and sweet incense:
And it occurred to me, how can I receive His mercies every morning if I am not willing to be His burnt up sacrifice every morning? The Israelites burnt sacrifices to Him each and every morning because they knew they need Him each and every day. Yesterday’s forgiveness was not enough for today, they needed a new and fresh start right from the start of the day.
Jesus is our sacrifice! Yes I know this, but He is also our FORERUNNER. Let us be more and more conformed into His image and follow His example of also being a sacrifice for others. Rom 12:1
Lord, let me be a living sacrifice, on fire for you Lord. Morning by morning new mercies I see.
Ps. 92:1,2 It is a good thing to give thanks to the LORD, and to sing praises to Your name, O Most High: To show forth Your lovingkindness in the morning, and Your faithfulness every night.
